Great Yeldham P3
A new footpath needs to be opened at Great Yeldham Station.
Yes it is finished 03/03/2010
Today 24th Feb Pauline, Pat, Andrew, Ann, Carl, Terry, Stan and Pete went to Great Yeldham station. This station was shut in 1962. It has been left since the early 60's.

Terry and Carl start to sort out the tools.

Stan ensures that the tea site is all ready to go.

We soon start to get some trees felled and the bonfire is spluttering into flame. Where is Martin the farmer when you need him.

Pauline sorts out some brush for the bonfire. Andrew makes short work of the felled trees.

The bonfire starts to take hold. Pat makes sure that the brush is put on correctly.

Further along there was quite a lot of bramble that needed brush cutting.

The footpath now begins to look better. The bonfire was certainly needed.

Ann has been cutting up some brush.

Now that looks really good.

We all look exhausted, still another week should get this footpath finished.

No Stan is not part of the rubbish. Hopefully, the Clean Team will sort this out for us. That was a good day's work.
Yes the Clean Team had taken all the rubbish. THANKS.
We then returned with Andrew to complete the main task. What is he doing?

Of course the bonfire was an essential part of the task. It was still hot from last week.

After all the rain last week one end of the station was very water-logged. Jim waded in of course whilst Andrew was busy clearing.

The other part of the footpath was a little overgrown. We cleared it with the hedge cutter and rakes.

2 waymarker posts to go in later and now it is down to ECC to complete the footpath.

The path looks quite good now. How will it look when the diggers have been in and taken out the slope?
Thanks to all the team involved, you all put in a good effort here.
