Rivenhall P3
After a site visit with Janet, Adam and several parish reps we were asked to carry out some major work on Rivenhall Airfield. Many of the footpaths here had to be re-directed due to the quarry. It has taken a long time for this to be done but now it has been agreed, work starts.
We started of on FP8. This was a footpath that had been totally lost and overgrown. Our team of Wendy, John, Andrew, Stan, Ann, myself and Graham Dossett (Kelvedon P3 rep.) set to.

Graham has settled in to the work and soon gets the gate open. There was a lot of dead wood and scrub to move.

Eventually the job begins to show signs of completion.

John talks to Graham about using the brush cutter to finish the brambles.

Andrew and Stan set to , to get the scrub sorted for the farmer to deal with.

At last the job has been finished. Graham was very pleased with the job.

Whilst this was being done Wendy, Ann, John and myself went across to footpath 55. This path needed some brush cutting and bridge clearance. We are lucky to have 2 brush cutters, at least we can get a lot done.
This is was it looked like at the start.

So we started clearing the bridge. Ann and Wendy love doing this, they look so happy. The new jackets and trousers seem to be keeping out the cold and damp.

Brush cutting soon changes the look of the foot path.

When finished the footpath looked so different.

We then all stopped for lunch and a drink. It is always a nice relaxing time when we can catch up with the news. Graham explained to us what was happening with his P3 responsibilities.
After lunch we moved site to footpath 56. This again was totally blocked in places.

Still, as usual, the team set to. It doesn't take long before we can see a difference.
There was a lot of brambles and overhanging growth.

It is always good when we can stand back and view our work.

It is amazing what you find discarded in old tree stumps.

Still we took pity on him and brought him back with us.
