What do we do?

Under guidance of the Country Park Rangers we tackle a whole variety of jobs such as coppicing hazel, pond regeneration, scrub and ditch clearance, rubbish clearing, hedge planting and Way marking path ways to name but a few. We try to visit one site for 3-4 weeks so that the task gets completed as our volunteers like to see a job finished properly before going on to the next one. The group have also acted as recorders for wildlife species such as Great Crested Newts in the local ponds and Butterfly surveys on local farmland. On behalf of Parish Paths Partnership (P3), the Friends have recently been involved with surveying and marking of local footpaths and improving access.
