With over 100 acres of parkland and great play facilities, Great Notley Country Park has lots to offer the whole family and holds a prestigious Green Flag award. There is a large car park and a signed link path to join the Flitch Way at Rayne, accessible to walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
As well as being an ideal place to take children the country park has a wealth of beauty to offer those who like to walk or cycle. The site offers many facilities including a sensory trail, endless play equipment, Sky Ropes, fishing, visitor centre, cafe, sports & educational facilities, Park Run plus an extensive events programme. Under the supervision of Claire Bunn and her team the volunteers have performed a number of tasks on this site since the rangers took Great Notley Country Park over in 2008. These include installing bollards in the entrance way, building fences round the ponds to safeguard wandering toddlers,creating fishing platforms, planting trees in the carpark and along ditches, clearing ditches of debris, building a hibenaculum for lizards and slow worms and other similar conservation work. |
