Great Tey again

23/3/2016

Carl, Jim, Pat, Andrew, Alan B, Alan T, Pete and a new volunteer Tony, went back to Great Tey to carry on with the clearance of the sunken lane.  Our first task was to clear the cuttings from the last work party.

This we did with a very large bonfire. Whilst this was going on others in the group carried on with clearing the next stretch. We had another bonfire at the point where there was access to fields. Many of the trees here were very rotten so were easy to cut done and dispose of.
We were very lucky with the weather, we even had sunshine and it was great to hear Woodpeckers and Skylarks singing.
The first bonfire to clear all the cut wood from the last visit. Alan and Carl get on with the task
Another overgrown area of this sunken lane
Jim, Ann and Andrew have almost cleared all the cuttings. Looks like a good bonfire.
This is the second bonfire site. Alan T, Pauline, Carl and Tony cut the wood to keep the fire going.
Tony, a new volunteer, seems to be enjoying himself.
Andrew is sorting out the badly overgrown area, plenty of dead wood here.
They all look like they are enjoying the day.
Pete shows where the next part of the sunken lane goes, probably another 200m
Carl and Alan T start removing some of the dead wood.
Ann and Pat finish the clear up before we leave.
