Information boards installed along the Flitch Way

19/4/2016

A small group of volunteers went out with Richard our ranger to install four maps at different sites along the Flitch Way. The maps are based on the design of our Flitch Way leaflet. You can find them at the following locations:
Picture
  • Stane Street Halt (near Hatfield Forest)
  • High Cross Lane picnic site (to the west of Great Dunmow)
  • Stebbing Road (Felsted)
  • Clapp Bridge (near Pods Brook Road)
After measuring up they got started on digging the holes at the first location Stane street near Hatfield forest
The first map was in place at Stane street and Richard gave it a final coat of paint while Brian, Alan, John and Ian admired their work.
They moved on to High Cross Lane picnic area and began the process again John, Brian, Alan and Ian dug the holes while Richard screwed the legs in place and John M made a much needed cuppa.
Another map installed......two more to go!
John points out the "you are here" sign
It was nearlly 2.30pm when they arrived at Pods Brook and installed the last map. By 3pm the job was finished.......Well done everyone!!
The maps look good and should be a useful guide to all visitors to the Flitch Way.

Good Morning,

My son and I have been cycling along the Flitch Way over the past month which he has really enjoyed.

Would it please be possible to obtain an A3 poster colour copy of the information board maps?

Many Thanks

Simon Parsons
